How you can help

Volunteers needed

We regularly need volunteers at our Saturday adoption events in Murfreesboro, & we can always use more foster homes! We also need volunteers for home visits, various administrative tasks, & transporting.

We need foster homes!

We are always looking for people within a couple hours of the rescue (this includes the cities of Chattanooga, Nashville, Knoxville, Crossville and Cookeville) that are willing to assist with fostering pets of all kinds.  The more foster homes we have, the more pets we can save.

Foster homes must sign a contract vowing to provide shelter, daily food and clean water always available.  Except in rare instances, all pets must be kept indoors.  Allowing them outdoors for several hours at a time during good weather is perfectly acceptable, but they must be indoors over night, during extreme heat or cold and during bad weather.  We will provide the food and all vetting for the foster dogs and can help provide you with low cost vetting for your personal pets as well if you are able to foster.   Fosters must be able to commit to bringing their foster pet to at least two adoption events in Murfreesboro, TN per month.  You do not have to stay as long as we have enough volunteers to cover the day.  We recommend contacting other foster parents and setting up a schedule as to when each will be staying for the event and when you will ‘have the day off’.

Some foster homes will be for a long term foster until it finds it’s forever home.  Other fosters may only be short term, a few days to a couple weeks, until they can be moved to a safe rescue that is taking them in or until their vetting is complete and they can go to their homes.  We always allow our fosters to choose the pets they want to foster, including allowing them to choose which to pull off a euthanasia line in a shelter.  Our fosters are very much a vital part of our program.  To date, our fosters have helped save the lives of dozens of dogs.

Always can use:

dog and cat food
basic clay type cat litter
used kennels of all sizes
used blankets and pet beds

A donation for the remaining balance at our previous vet clinic, Sparta Rd Vet in McMinnville, TN or to our current vet at All Creatures Vet in Manchester, TN.

Occasionally can use:

Assistance with transportation, both long distance placing pets in new homes or pulling from shelters and short distance to and from vet appointments or groomers, etc help with paperwork; calling to confirm references from adoption applications help doing home checks

        Foster homes always needed

        Sponsor a pet

Special skills you can offer?  Training, grooming, walks, pet sitting, etc?
