We are no longer able to accept any owner surrenders, but we will be happy to courtesy list your pets for you. We require all pets to be up to date on all of their vaccinations and to be spayed or neutered as well has have proof that they are heartworm negative. You must foster them until a home can be found. All potential adopters must be screened and we can provide you with generic applications and a contract.

Adopters must pass a veterinary reference check and home check. We do not allow adoptions to anyone under 21 years old without consent of the full board.

As we add courtesy listed pets we will keep a record of them. Except in rare cases, you will not be able to adopt through HART for one year after surrendering your pet to us or listing your pet through us as a courtesy listing.

To have your pet listed as a courtesy listing on our site, please use the following format. Cut and paste it into an e-mail and fill in the information needed, then e-mail the info to AdoptaHART@gmail.com Please include three of your best photos of the pet including a close up of the face, a full body and a good photo of your choice. The more photos we receive the better. We will choose the photos to use on your pets listing. You will also be forwarded a contract that must be signed and dated and returned to us with proof of the vetting for this pet. If you don't have paper copies of this proof, please provide the name and phone number of the vet or clinic that has provided these services.

**Please note: All pets that are courtesy listed through HART are not in the HART program and we there for cannot guarantee this pet's health or temperament. Our guidelines are in place to do our best to ensure that only well behaved healthy pets are placed into new homes with our assistance. Anyone adopting a pet that is courtesy listed through HART must sign a contract with the current owner. The current owner must sign a contract with HART agreeing to our guidelines before we will list their pet. These guidelines also apply to stray pets anyone has found and asked us to list.
